Leading industrial rayon producer Cordenka will again participate in the seventh edition of North America’s only dedicated show for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens in Atlanta, Georgia. www.techtextilna.com
With the slogan “Tough by nature” Cordenka’s focus during Techtextil will be on the company’s industrial rayon yarns for reinforcement mainly applied for high and ultra high-performance tires. Thanks to its natural cellulose origin, the thermostable CORDENKA® rayon yarns feature resistance to heat and stress, key properties for constant dimensional stability. These yarn properties substantially contribute to more agility in driving, a better ride over a tire’s lifetime and a lower rolling resistance, which makes CORDENKA® rayon the material of choice for modern (ultra) high-performance tires.
Attention will also be paid to the application of CORDENKA® reinforcement in other rubber applications like brake hoses and - as a new field of applications - thermoplastic polymers. Using CORDENKA® rayon as reinforcement for thermoplastic polymers e.g. polypropylene significantly improves the polymer properties and grants advantages during processing compared to glass fibers.
